
Bhai Jarnail Singh began taking interest in religious and political affairs. Prior to his first year examinations Bhai Sahib left college as he felt he could serve a higher purpose in life. Bhai Sahib took admission in the sports wing at the Govt. He even represented Punjab in the interstate school basketball games held in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. Bhai Sahib’s family moved to village Halwara, District Ludhiana, where he completed his primary education at the local village school.īhai Sahib was a keen and talented basketball player. He was the youngest among four brothers and three sisters. Shaheed Bhai Jarnail Singh Halwara was born in village Manak Majra which is located approximately 3 miles from Mandi Gobindgarh, District Ludhiana (now presently in the territorial jurisdiction of the District, Fatehgarh Sahib) in the month of January, 1961, into a small farming family.Bhai Sahib was born in to the household of Mata Mohinder Kaur Ji and Sardar Harbant Singh Ji. He was very intelligent and attended school on a scholarship. He would go to the Gurdwara daily and listen to nitnem there and only then eat anything.īhai Gurpal Singh graduated from high school in 1980 and then went to Punjab Agriculture University in Ludhiana to study for his Bsc.

Bhai Sahib’s entire family was amritdhari for some generations and so he received his love of the Guru in his heritage.īhai Sahib was very devout. Bhai Gurpal Singh spent the first five years at Bhuco Mandi with his grandmother. Both of Bhai Sahib’s parents were teachers and taught at nearby schools. Bhai Sahib came from a very educated, rich, and prosperous family. Bhai Sahib had one younger brother as well. His father is Bhai Jagjit Singh and mother Bhupinder Kaur. One such youth was Bhai Gurpal Singh Jee from Bhuccho Mandi, district Bathinda.īhai Gurpal Singh Babbar was born on November 24, 1965. The events of 19 had a deep impact on the psyche of every Sikh, this ignited a passion for Sikhi and transformed them into saint-warriors. Thousands of bright young men and women came forward to take up arms and fight the Brahmanical oppressors, who were bent on decimating Sikhi forever. Scores of Singh’s were shot and killed with each passing day.
